Love is
something that I don’t do
due to the
men that have done me good in the past
and now that time has elapsed
the clasp that holds
me to you is becoming lose
and that is only because of me.
You took the time to be there for me
but I take the time to try and see
things that you aren’t doing
to push you away from me
Sounds silly but if I get you before you me
I will be happy
stuck in this stagnancy
a relationship that
will sail before I catch the boat
and I will gloat to my girls about
how you cried by my side and told me
what I meant to you
as we lay in the moonlight that
illuminates the glow that your eyes
have only for me
and I will feel
for that instant
free of the pain of the past
but quickly
it will flee and in its
place will be
that distrust, in you, the
failure of me

Pest
Respect all of God’s creatures is
What they say. Living things
need to exist
in unity
is what they tell me. But
I pay rent here, and
I
Will
Be
Damned
If they stay here with me
--rent free
feeding on what I need.
So I kill they asses, as
many as I see, cuz
I think
that can be considered as breaking and entering
since I didn’t give them a key.
So as they enter,
I break them
Smash them.
Burn them.
Too many to let outside,
I tried.
The good news is
If they have souls
I am sending them to Glory.
The bad news is,
If they have souls
I am a murderer.
Hallelujah for Mercy
and Forgiveness, two
bad bitches—
But as long as they are in my house
I
Will
Kill
Them
and their offspring
Or maybe call
Orkin and have them
do it for me.
Murder for hire, or
premeditated destruction,
Whichever it may be
Those fuckers need to die.
What they say. Living things
need to exist
in unity
is what they tell me. But

Revolving Door
Caressing
While he hits the back and slides in
My Thigh
While he hits the back and slides out
He Opens
While he hits the back and slides in
Me Wide
While he hits the back and slides out
The Force
While he hits the back and slides in
Is Strong
While he hits the back and slides out
He Makes
While he hits the back and slides in
Me come
While he hits the back and slides out
I Moan
While he hits the back and slides in
Eyes Roll
While he hits the back and slides out
I’m Full
While he hits the back and slides in
Of Lust
While he hits the back and slides out
Going Deeper
While he hits the back and slides in
Can’t Go Deeper
While he hits the back and slides out
He Goes Deeper
While he hits the back and slides in
I Come
While he hits the back and slides out
He Busts
While he hits the back and slides in

Daydream
I am willing to explore your
every
crevice as I toy with this
Thought
Especially if it means more of this
imagined Bliss
Kissing the back of my mind as I
devour you with just my mouth
Adventurous words
escape my parted lips and you caress
every curve
Every dip
of my brain with your voice.
These words that break free
of the space behind my teeth
open up the gate for future sins
But for now they are just words.
At some point soon
they can be turned
and taken for literal translation
The movement of your tongue no longer
just for aural stimulation of my ears
but now my body
But this thought,
this feeling fills me with fear because
I think I want this.
It isn't real,
conjured images of passion
that have come about while I sit there
and stare at you,
talking about nothing sexual, nothing sensual
But me staring at your full lips
makes my hips dip and gyrate on their own
Holding on to syllables
as if it was your toned body
You
don't
know
What I would do to you if I got the chance
but with our conversation
Lacking sensuality, sexuality
This imagined state of mutual attraction
These big words and actions
I speak of in my head
But not out of my mouth,
are null
because
Only non sexual,
non sensual words come out
every
crevice as I toy with this
Thought

A Penny for Your Thoughts
“Penny For Your Thoughts” - Gemineye
Can I offer you a penny for your thoughts?
As a matter of fact, how about three?
One penny for you, one penny for me,
And one penny for our minds engaged not so sexually.
Getting intimately closer as we approach the
Climatic altitude of nude, mental, sensational… conversation.
Because I’m trying to get to know everything about you
From the neck… UP.
So these are not your typical, sexual, poetical prose.
I’m trying to close the door on that all too firmiliar freaky foreplay game.
With which most guys have chose to approach you.
While they are trying to get deeply inbedded
In the fine fibers of your bedsheets,
I’m trying to find and define the fibers of which your mind speaks.
I want to engage you
By putting a two karat solitaire diamond ON YOUR MIND
Marrying your every thought!
I want to lick every inch of every crevasse
So I can get an oral fix from each oriface
And taste you passionate IMAGINATION.
I’d rather be naked and exposed, holding you
As we’re lying and you’re crying
While confiding and describing the tough times you’ve had in life
And how you don’t know
If you can keep a relationshop long enough to be somebody’s wife.
I wanna feel the heartbeat of all your inner rhythms
As they lead me toward your warm, wet, waterfalls of feminine thoughts.
…And I’ll swin in them.
From backstroaks, to breaststrokes,
I’m penetrating every entrance… to your mind.
Taking my time to find out everything about you.
Did I ever tell you about how you
Fell asleep in my presence?
And your mere essance
Kept me awake for hours
As I cowered with this feeling
Of sexually unadulterated mental connection?
And as you lay by my side
I pushed the blinds aside
And took the time in the moonlight of that night
To count 72 eyelashes
On the upper eyelid of your right eye!
Because when you sleep
Your eyes remain open slightly.
And while we probably moves in too quickly into some sexual shit
I’ve always cared more about the expilicity illicitness
That came from between you lips.. meaning your voice.
So now I am standing here
Ready to trade in all the sexual acts that we’ve preformed
For the chance to reform the very foundation
And the basis of our relationship.
So I reiterate my opening statement
And I offer you another penny for your thoughts!

In Touch
Suddenly staying in touch
Isn't easy
Cause we aren't touching.
My mind, soul
Body you wanted to know
You
Manipulated words to
Change my feelings
Your so called desire was to know
My insides from the mental
Perspective changes quickly when
at one time you adored me
Adorned me with spoken jewels
Or recited pressed carbon
As a pencil to paper
Your wood was leaving residue in my diary
My secret place that I shared with no one until
You came along and snatched the key.
The funny thing was it wasn't needed,
My access was too easy
With a safety pin and a compliment
You were in
Into my thoughts
In tune with my channel
the soaps of my life you were able to understand
And spit back at me some meaning of my madness
See I was too much of the same thing
Like day time t.v.
A re-run
I am not dumb, I get it,
The more you repeat the more you retain.
Flash cards flippin like student's
Studyin for the MCAT
Fast hoes dippin in and out of your life
Meaning I am like the last she
Fast understanding.
It was easy for you to "feel" my needs of knowledge
Making me open up more than a book
too soon
Too soon
And soon when I call and get no answer
Then see you on the streets
You will hit me with a "whats up"
And I will boil on the inside then smile
Cuz I thought you were deep
Would go deep
And I was doubly disappointed
So whats up?
You will stay in touch?
It isn't easy 'cause
We not EVEN touching
Isn't easy
Cause we aren't touching.

Quake
Bliss beating against my backside,
slide in
as
my
Pleasure pours out
my dreams
come
to reality.
Tingling begins and reaches out
in waves, that
g—
spot
the epicenter of my body quake.
The crumbling of my walls is
no disaster,
after
they tremble, they
rebuild themselves
and
cement
onto his member,
clasping each brick of this house
to the glue of his gun
which
he
shoots
only when my body has been pushed to the limit.
I feel him
feel his heart beat
below the belt as limbs
entwine
his third leg creeping slowly down my hallway
to obscenities
darkness gives way to the light of
gratification,
Perfectly connected
his sword fits my sheath
as
we
breathe.
Inhale lust
Exhale ecstasy
The ground begins to shake
again.
Begging to stop yet bodies still
rock
adding eroticism to this danger.
The Aftershock
comes
and causes a carnal flood
I wasn’t ready
My body explodes as red and orange
show beneath my eyelids,
fire
finally
put out from the river below.
Regaining consciousness I
can’t
help but wish for another

Cheat
You come back home, back
to me, your self-proclaimed Hershey kiss,
as you plant one on my lips,
smelling like pussy and feet.
Check you out, don’t say you don’t.
I took my Claritin today, so
nasal passages are clear, and its clear that
you smell like pussy. She must
have got you busted, slapped on a rubber while
you were gone, and then you woke up mid-hump
and ran from the scene—
Cause if you cheated on me, your life can’t
be of that much value.
I told you what I would do if
you continue to choose random pie over
the cakes we bake and I will be damned
if I take this,
share my dick with another bitch when
I taught you the tricks you can do
with your hips, your tongue.
Your tongue, I just got sick, bitch
did you just put your coochie eating lips
on mine? Its time to call Tyrone, so
he can fuck you up, he’s been dying to since he
found out you were fuckin his boo. Its cool,
don’t sweat it cause I got you……………

Me and Seed
I am a mother who makes
mistakes. The blame I will take, as
I try to place the burden solely
on
Me.
Responsibility is key
to having seed and
I know it is difficult to understand the
demands life places on a
single black woman.
But take a step back and attempt
to see.
Marriage makes the woman whole yet there
are two other pieces of
Me
that He needs to meet. Now
He and I combined to make number three
yet in the end there is just
Me.
Fast fix to get out of this rut, emotions
bottled up so long that
lust is now love, he adores
Me.
So I am Mrs. He, soon He removes
His prince charming mask
and reveals he is truly a beast.
To be free from His clutches
means we must flee. With no where to go,
I carry my two and his seed in
Me.
Quickly, quietly, in the night
we leave, never to see Him again
But the fright is always in the back of my mind
as I work this nine to five for four only
making enough for three,
So that I go without but
My seed wants for nothing, because its
not about
Me

Late
My future husband can’t see me like this,
At least until we have kids,
So of course that means I have to press this mess before class
Knowing I don’t have the time.
But to be fashionably late
Is cool when we go to the clubs,
I just hope my teacher understands
I’m running late.
Middle part with bone straight strands,
My hands feeling the silk of crinkle free locks.
Finally able to step out the door,
A tear from heaven falls from the sky
And into my hair.
Precipitation and no-perm don’t mix
So now I gotta go back for an umbrella
And pray that the humidity isn’t hungry for a foreign body
To clench on to.
I’m running late.
Get to the bus stop and watch as it passes me
Simultaneously splashing me with dirty water
That should be in the sewer
Ruining my new kicks that I pulled out the box.
Ruining what was left of a positive attitude.
Ruining what was left of my hair.
A car slows and the window rolls down,
Revealing the bedraggled me to the immaculate he.
“Want a ride to class?” he asks,
I get in the front seat
Feeling the heat of this
Embarrassment.
He doesn’t seem to notice.
At least until we have kids,

After The Crawl
I am truly disappointed in us. Black people (of U of I), we need to get it together. As this year is winding down, we are about to lose many of our friends and colleagues into the real world. They are not prepared. This is supposed to be a joyous occasion, a time of celebration to honor the efforts that we have put forth as a people and the obstacles that we have overcome to get this education that was at one time forbidden to us.
But what have we learned? Add a few cups of alcohol to the mix and it seems like it hasn't been much. While events such as these are supposed to take place as a final hoorah before reality, there is still a reality that needs to be faced in the moment. We are not invincible, we will not live forever. Some actions taken tonight illustrate just how ill-equipped college actualy makes us for reality and shows how unprepared we are to deal with ourselves as a people. We have no unity.
We always say it, and we always see it; we go places to have a good time and are greeted by the police. The first thing out of our mouths is they are racist, that they don't focus on the white people and their drunken stupors and public displays of intoxication. But just think how many times you have been in line at a function and have gotten bumped as people try to bum-rush a door. Think of all of the fights that occur by our people and involving our people that could have been avoided if a small bit of humility and a great bit of common sense were added into our mixed drinks. Imagine all of the times that we could have gotten into the parties if we did something as simple as forming a single file line, but we are so concerned with getting ourselves into the party/club or whatever that we weill not get out of our place in line, so that the end result is the group standing still.
How can we blame the police for showing up if this is what we know will occur ourselves? We prove them right more often than not. It is time we get in line and move. There is nothing wrong with extending courtesies to your fellow brown babies, latinos/as included. We are together the minority, but our numbers are too great to live in this diversity. What is another five minutes in a lince versus not getting in due to a fight that will occur, or not moving at all becasue we cannot/choose not to follow simple directions?
We need to take responsibility for ourselves and our attribution to our own stagancy. Sometimes it is best not to follow the crowd. Not to cop that attitude just becasue people are watching you and you dont want to feel played. How many more times are we going to try to come together only to be ripped apart, not by outsiders, but by our own people? Our friends come to our aid to fight with us, but they are helping us fight our own family. It is rare form to participate in a party that has no arguments or fights. And we are surprised when there are none on any given day. This has to change.
We are too petty. We need to let go of past differences, look at what our faults could have been versus only analyzing the actions of the other party. We need to work on ourselves to ensure we can have the best time possible with the people who should have out best interests in mind. We need to think of US and not I, the more I 's we see, the less unity occurs. The less things flow smoothly. The less it appears that we have respect for ourselves and the elders that gave up and risked so much for us to be able to be in an institute of higher education, for us to be able to use rest rooms and water fountains in public buildings.
We need to examine ourselves and see what we can change in ourselves individually that will benefit our people. It won't happen over night, but if everyone takes a small step forward, it will be that much harder for them to push us back. Class of 08, lets take the lessons that '07 layed out for us. We need to let go of the issues that plagued us years ago, let go of all of the fights and arguments, and come together as friends. It is easier to let go and be happy than to hold on to old grudges and force yourself to have a dislike for someone as similar as yourself. Lets work on us, so that our finale at this university can be one to both celebrate and be proud of. I love you all, and that is real.
But what have we learned? Add a few cups of alcohol to the mix and it seems like it hasn't been much. While events such as these are supposed to take place as a final hoorah before reality, there is still a reality that needs to be faced in the moment. We are not invincible, we will not live forever.
